Photography Workshops Scotland

Where it started

My love of photography started when I was travelling. I wanted to document my travels to share with family and friends back home. I didn't really know much about what I was doing and what all the buttons on my camera did but I certainly had fun figuring it all out. I remember getting frustrated because I couldn't create the image I had envisioned in my head. I would change one setting at a time and learn what affect that had on my picture and work it out from there.

On my return to Scotland, I decided to invest in a workshop to learn how to get the best from my camera to capture the beautiful scenery Scotland had to offer, so I dedicated my free time to the landscapes of Scotland.

Where it went

I found myself drawn to the more peaceful scenes. I think because I had such a hectic work life, I enjoyed the contrast of being out in the wilderness alone and just absorbing my surroundings. I can normally be found by the waters edge or out in the middle of an unexplored forest. Something about the trees speaks to me - perhaps my childlike imagination working overdrive.

Of course I would bump into a fellow photographer occasionally and through these ventures consider myself lucky to have made many friends who also enjoy escaping for a few hours to create landscape images.

Where it is now

I eventually plucked up enough courage to enter some competitions locally, nationally and internationally.

Some of my photo achievements I am proud of:
